Excelsior is a footwear brand that originated in France, but later gained popularity and established its main production base in South Korea. The brand’s design philosophy comes from the founder’s love of vulcanized sneakers. At the time, the shoe design and rubber materials were inspired by automobile tires, which led to the distinctive foxing tape pattern resembling tire treads. This concept evolved into an Industrial design aesthetic, which has continued throughout later collections up to the present.
